Muito diferente do rascunho apresentado à imprensa há dois anos, o novo projeto do estádio Verdão encaminhado à Fifa no dia 15 de janeiro apresenta um designer moderno. Com a confirmação de Cuiabá como uma das sedes da Copa do Mundo de 2014, a nova praça esportiva será erguida no local onde está o antigo, no complexo do Verdão, ao lado do ginásio Aecim Tocantins. Cercado por árvores, completamente coberto, bem ventilado e com dois grandes anéis de arquibancadas, o novo estádio será cercado de colunas e suas cores seguirão o padrão verde em alusão ao Verdão e à Cidade Verde, apelido da capital mato-grossense. Sua capacidade é para 48 mil pessoas e suas dotações serão completas, atendendo a todos os requisitos exigidos pela Fifa. O projeto acompanha a tendência de modernismo dos estádios europeus.

A cidade ganhará um estádio no porte dos mais modernos do mundo. O novo Verdão, ao custo estimado de R$ 350 milhões e com previsão de conclusão para dezembro de 2012 seguirá padrão europeu, com utilização de energia solar e dentro das normais internacionais de preservação ambiental.

Ao falar do projeto do estádio, o arquiteto Eduardo de Castro Mello, da empresa Castro Mello – contratada pelo Governo do Estado para desenvolver o projeto –, assegurou que a nova praça acompanhará o conceito alemão e será ecologicamente correto. “O novo Verdão será uma arena bem moderna. Um novo formato, bem diferente do que existe hoje. O diferencial de modernidade será justamente a preocupação com o ambiente. Pretendemos construir um estádio confortável e de acordo com o conceito de preservação exigido pelos organismos internacionais. Será um estádio perfeitamente adequado para a cidade de Cuiabá, atendendo todas as exigências e características modernas que poderiam estar nos estádios dos maiores centros do futebol mundial”, afirmou Castro Mello.

Conforme o engenheiro Marcelo Rozemberg, da empresa Castro e Mello arquiteto, o novo Verdão “será um estádio ecologicamente correto, aproveitando a energia solar para gerar eletricidade para diversas atividades dentro do estádio. Já a água da chuva será armazenada e reutilizada para irrigação do gramado e jardins e outras formas de uso, como a limpeza de banheiros e áreas externas”.

Em entrevista ao site Copa no Pantanal (copanopantanal.com.br), Castro Mello disse ainda que “também houve uma preocupação com a climatização. Nos preocupamos com detalhes arquitetônicos na fachada e criação de área aberta para brisas de forma a evitar a incidência de raio solar internamente, o que iria aquecer muito o ambiente. Nós temos aberturas de ventilação e a criação de um anel superior de circulação com jardim suspenso. Enfim, Cuiabá terá uma praça de esportes moderníssima. Acho que muitos europeus gostariam de ter um estádio igual a esse por lá”.

O projeto - O estádio Verdão para a Copa 2014 terá um custo de aproximadamente R$ 350 milhões. O estádio, com capacidade para 48.453 pessoas sentadas, terá dotação para sediar qualquer evento de porte internacional no futebol. A área prevê estacionamento para 15 mil vagas. As arquibancadas – todas cobertas e com assentos - estarão divididas em níveis, sendo 22.910 lugares (nível 1) e 22.688 lugares para arquibancada superior (nível 2). Haverão camarotes com 880 lugares (nível 3) e espaço de imprensa em 108 divisões.

O estádio também terá áreas específicas como business seats (112 lugares), tribuna de honra para 79 pessoas e camarotes VIPs (1.456 lugares). O campo de jogo prevê dimensões de 105x68 metros. Não haverá o fosso como no estádio atual e o público terá maior proximidade com o campo.

O novo estádio, de acordo com o projeto, terá quatro conjuntos de bilheterias com seis guichês cada, totalizando 12 guichês ao lado norte e mais 12 ao lado Sul. De acordo com o projeto, o acesso do público às arquibancadas inferior e superior, se dará por meio de 14 portões e 72 catracas eletrônicas com leitores de ingressos.

O projeto dispõe de praça de alimentação em níveis 1, 2 , 3 e 4, restaurante e bar. O estádio contará com dois postos de pré-atendimento localizados nos níveis 1 e 5, unidade clínica com 130m² e uma sala de primeiros socorros, ambas localizadas ao lado dos vestiários no nível zero (subsolo).

Está previsto um sistema de som para comunicação pública, dentro e fora do estádio, com volume automático, capaz de enviar mensagens exclusivas aos setores individuais, como tribuna de honra e aos assentos restritos.

Serão utilizados dois placares telões, de comunicação eletrônica. O estádio contemplará oito áreas, de 85m² cada, com oito vagas para cadeirantes e obesos, mais oito lugares para seus respectivos acompanhantes totalizando 128 lugares disponíveis para portadores de necessidades especiais e obesos. O auditório terá uma área de 130m² e uma capacidade de 88 assentos.

According to engineer Marcelo Rozemberg, of the company Castro and Mello architect, new Verdão “it will be a stadium correct ecologicamente, taking advantage of the solar energy to generate electricity inside for several activities of the stadium.
